Low Earth Orbit
Through the use of special handsets information passes directly to and from the nearest Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite and on to its destination.
Geostationary
A satellite receiver provides a direct connection to the Geostationary Satellite and enables information to be passed onwards. To connect to personnel in the field a Wireless LAN is also required
Some Applications in Construction:

- Seamless linking of construction sites into wider information networks
- Fax, email, internet and intranet access, as well video-conferencing for roving professionals
