Mobile Timesheet Collection

Plan

Sandeep Jain

“Time and attendance systems have been expensive and impractical. The phone-based software should facilitate tracking workers even at smaller and widespread project sites or for short-term jobs.”

Sandeep Jain, CEO, Kailaz Software

Background

MobiBiz TimeCollection is a mobile timesheet data entry solution. It is an application designed for employers to monitor their employees’ working hours and control attendance. Unlike conventional time and attendance systems, TimeCollection uses workers’ mobile phones to collect data, via an easily downloadable application, thus being usable even for short-term subcontractors.

The data is location time stamped, so that the worker’s time of work, verified by their geographical location, is sent to the employer, and the employee can also enter additional job notes and OT information. Software based online collates the data and provides the employer with daily, weekly and monthly analysis and reports of working hours and projects. These reports can be integrated with contractors back-end accounting software. A web feed allows easy integration with back-office software

Problem

Modern time and attendance solutions have brought paperless systems, saving time and money, but problems still emerge, both in the costliness and unwieldy nature of terminal solutions, and the obstacle of having various jobsites or short-term subcontractors.

Proposed solution

A time and attendance system based on an easily downloadable application on mobile phones (either subcontractors personal phones or work mobile phones) greatly reduces hassle in collating the data and overcomes these problems. It could eventually have widespread implications for smaller businesses that could not necessarily afford terminals or PDAs for their staff to connect to the back office, or would rather not entrust PDAs to temporary subcontractors
